President Heine Hosts Regional Leaders at PNA and Pacific Blue Shipping Partnership Reception

MAJURO, MARSHALL ISLANDS — June 10, 2026 — Her Excellency President Hilda C. Heine hosted a Welcome Reception at the Marshall Islands Resort for delegates attending the 21st Annual Ministerial Meeting of the Parties to the Parties to the Nauru Agreement and the inaugural Ministerial Council Meeting of the Pacific Blue Shipping Partnership.

The reception brought together Pacific leaders, ministers, and distinguished delegates in Majuro for two landmark regional engagements focused on advancing sustainable ocean governance, strengthening maritime cooperation, and supporting the Blue Pacific economy.

In her remarks, President Heine welcomed delegates from across the region and underscored the central importance of the ocean to Pacific livelihoods, economies, and future development. She highlighted the Parties to the Nauru Agreement’s longstanding leadership in sustainable tuna fisheries management and maximizing returns for Pacific island nations, as well as the Pacific Blue Shipping Partnership’s vision to improve regional connectivity through resilient and sustainable maritime transport.

President Heine further noted that both initiatives reflect the Pacific’s commitment to collective action, innovation, and self-determined development. She encouraged continued regional solidarity as leaders work together to advance economic opportunity, strengthen communities, and build a more resilient Blue Pacific future.

The evening concluded with a toast to the continued success of regional cooperation and the enduring unity of Pacific Island nations.
