MAJURO, MARSHALL ISLANDS – March 25, 2026 – H.E. President Hilda C. Heine attended the docking and arrival ceremony of the Republic of the Marshall Islands’ new Guardian-class patrol boat, RMIS Jelmae, donated by the Government of Australia. The ceremony marked a significant national milestone, including the disembarkation of the vessel’s crew, who departed Majuro in September of last year to undergo extensive training in preparation for operating the new patrol boat and safely sailing her home.
The arrival of RMIS Jelmae strengthens the nation’s maritime security and surveillance capabilities, supporting the protection of ocean resources, fisheries, and national borders. The RMI is deeply grateful to Australia for its partnership and the generous handover of the RMIS Jelmae.
