H.E. President Heine Accepts Credentials of New Ambassador from Finland to RMI

Majuro, Marshall Islands – March 4, 2025 – Her Excellency President Hilda C. Heine officially accepted the Letter of Credence presented by Her Excellency Tanja Jääskeläinen, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Finland to the Republic of the Marshall Islands. The presentation ceremony took place at the Cabinet Conference Room, marking the beginning of Ambassador Jääskeläinen’s diplomatic mission in the Marshall Islands.

President Heine warmly welcomed Ambassador Jääskeläinen and extended her sincere congratulations on her appointment. In her remarks, President Heine expressed the Republic of the Marshall Islands’ continued appreciation of its strong and growing relationship with Finland. She assured Ambassador Jääskeläinen of the full support and cooperation of the Government of the Republic of the Marshall Islands to assist in advancing mutual interests throughout her tenure.

The credential presentation ceremony was attended by Foreign Minister Kalani Kaneko, Finance, Banking and Postal Services Minister David Paul, Transportation, Education Minister Gerald Zackios, Communication and Information Technology Minister Hilton Kendall, Justice Minister Wisely Zackhras, and officials from the Office of the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
