Majuro, Marshall Islands — H.E. President Hilda C. Heine and First Gentleman Thomas Kijiner, Jr. are leading a delegation to attend the Inauguration of the 12th Constitutional Government of the Republic of Palau, which will take place on Thursday, January 16th, 2025 at the National Capitol Grounds in Ngerulmud, Melekeok.
This significant event marks the beginning of President Surangel S. Whipps, Jr.’s second term in office, as well as the installation of Vice President-elect Raynold Oilouch. President Heine and First Gentleman Kijiner will attend the inauguration conveying the Republic of the Marshall Islands’ support for Republic of Palau’s continued leadership and long-standing ties between the two nations.
Her Excellency is joined by Foreign Minister, Honorable Kalani Kaneko, Finance Minister, Honorable David Paul, Honorary Consul from the Republic of Palau to RMI, Mr. Hirobo Obeketang, Chief of Staff, Emma Kabua-Tibon, and Foreign Assistant Secretary, Winder Loeak. While President Heine is on official travel, Minister-in-Assistance to the President and Environment Minister Bremity Lakhjohn will serve as Acting President.
