Majuro, Marshall Islands – December 30, 2024 – Her Excellency President Hilda C. Heine officially accepted the Letter of Credence presented by the newly appointed Japan Ambassador to the Republic of the Marshall Islands, His Excellency Hirohisa Soma. The presentation ceremony took place at the Cabinet Conference Room, marking the beginning of Ambassador Soma’s diplomatic mission in the Marshall Islands.

President Heine warmly welcomed Ambassador Soma to the Marshall Islands and extended heartfelt congratulations on his appointment. “As you assume your important new responsibility, I wish to assure you of the fullest cooperation and support from the Government of the Republic of the Marshall Islands in assisting you to discharge your duties. I am confident that during your tenure, relations between our two countries will continue to thrive for the mutual benefit of both countries”, President Heine stated.

The credential presentation ceremony was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs & Trade, Honorable Kalani Kaneko, Minister of Natural Resources and Commerce, Honorable Tony Muller, and Minister of Transportation, Communication, & Information Technology, Honorable Minister Hilton Kendall, and officials from the Office of the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
