On Thursday October 19, 2023, Acting President Honorable Minister Wilbur Heine received a courtesy visit from Minister Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Signh, Minister of State for External Affairs from the Republic of India. The delegation was led by Minister Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Signh with his distinguished guests. The courtesy visit was well attended by Cabinet members, Chief Secretary Kino Kabua, RMI Honorary Consul of India Ramona Levy-Strauss, and Government Officials from the Office of the President and Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade.
Acting President Wilbur Heine extended his warmest greetings of Iakwe to Minister Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Signh on behalf of the People and Government of the Republic of the Marshall Islands and welcome to our humble shores. Acting President Heine also mentioned the great opportunity the Government of India had for its enhanced focus and engagement with the Pacific Region, hence the Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) held in PNG this past May. The RMI Government was able to attend the historic Summit and deliver our national position on Climate Change. Acting President Heine conveys his sincere gratitude to Her Excellency Draupadi Murmu, President of the Republic of India and His Excellency Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the Republic of India for the continued support to our Country and People in many areas of cooperation, such as climate change. Acting President Heine looks forward to working closely with both nations and trust India is in capable hands.
