President Heine Meets with PIF Secretary General on Margins of Pacific Agenda Summit

Honolulu, Hawaiʻi – February 22, 2026 – H.E. President Hilda C. Heine, at the margins of The Pacific Agenda: Investment, Security, and Shared Prosperity Summit, met with Baron Waqa, Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum, for discussions on key regional priorities.

The meeting reaffirmed the Republic of the Marshall Islands’ strong commitment to Pacific solidarity and collective action under the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent. Discussions covered preparations for upcoming regional meetings, progress on the Pacific Resilience Facility, climate advocacy efforts ahead of COP engagements, and continued cooperation on nuclear legacy issues.

President Heine expressed appreciation for the leadership of the Forum Secretariat and reiterated the Marshall Islands’ commitment to working closely with Forum members to advance shared prosperity, security, and resilience across the Pacific.
