Majuro, Marshall Islands – March 3, 2025 – H.E. President Hilda C. Heine received a courtesy visit from the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Secretary General, Baron Waqa. During the meeting, the leaders engaged in productive discussions on key regional priorities, addressing both the challenges and opportunities facing the Pacific region.
Secretary General Waqa travelled to the Marshall Islands to attend the Nuclear Victims Remembrance Day ceremony and witness the historic signing of the Rarotonga Treaty, a powerful symbol of the Pacific Islands Forum’s steadfast solidarity with the Marshall Islands. This visit further underscores the Forum’s enduring commitment to enhancing regional cooperation on critical issues.
