Her Excellency President Hilda C. Heine Visits U.S. Indo-Pacific Command Headquarters in Hawaii

Honolulu, Hawaii — Her Excellency President Hilda C. Heine and First Gentleman Thomas Kijiner, Jr. visited the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) headquarters at Camp H.M. Smith on October 24, 2024, where President Heine was welcomed with an honors ceremony by Admiral Samuel J. Paparo, US INDOPACOM Commander.

Reflecting on the strong partnership between the Republic of the Marshall Islands and the United States, President Heine and Admiral Samuel J. Paparo engaged in discussions on enhancing maritime and security capabilities cooperation, addressing mutual defense priorities, support in combating drug trafficking, and fostering education and capacity building.

President Heine reaffirmed her commitment to strengthen ties with the US INDOPACOM, believing that mutual cooperation will enhance security for both the Marshall Islands and the broader Pacific region.
