On Wednesday, July 19 2023, His Excellency President David Kabua delivered remarks to the Marshall Islands Mayor Association (MIMA) for the Opening of the 23rd Annual Executive Leadership Conference at International Conference Center (ICC).
The conference, convening under the theme “Itemomej Jerbal Kakonkon”, started with an opening prayer then a warm welcoming by Honorable Kitlang Kabua the Minister of Cultural & Internal Affairs, followed by remarks delivered by President David, and a Kommoolol speech from the Culture & Internal Affairs Secretary Brenda Alik and then ended with a closing prayer.
In his remarks, President Kabua expressed sincere appreciation and commended the MIMA leadership for the great initiative in hosting the 23rd Annual Executive Leadership Conference this year. He further stated that the Government of the Republic of the Marshall Islands is fully committed to assist the Marshall MIMA in ensuring that they have all the support they need in terms of fundings.
President Kabua happily announced that RMI will receive more assistance from our diplomatic partners, including donations of vessels from our diplomatic partners, such as the Republic of Korea, Japan and the Republic of China (Taiwan). He further added that the future well-being of our people in the neighboring islands require us to look ahead and think proactively about how we build out the resources and infrastructure for safe, healthy thriving communities.
President Kabua is set to host a dinner in honor of the MIMA on Friday, July 21st at Jittak En.
The ceremony was well attended by high-level dignitaries from the Government, members of the Council of Iroij (Chiefs) and traditional leaders, the Diplomatic Corps, government officials, and many others.
