U.S. Pacific Island Country Summit

His Excellency David Kabua and delegation attended the first U.S. Pacific Island Country Summit. The U.S. Pacific Island Country Summit is held in the Harry S. Truman Building, the headquarters of the United States Department of State. The Pacific Island Country Summit begins today and will conclude on 29 September. 

Day one includes the following discussions: People Centered Development in the Pacific (U.S. Participation: Department of State, Peace Corps, East-West Center, U.S. Agency for International Development); Pacific Economic and Trade Ties (U.S. Participation: Department of Commerce, U.S. Trade Representative, Department of the Treasury); discussions on climate action, climate resilience, and clean energy transformation (U.S. Participation: Special Envoy for Climate, Department of Transportation, National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, U.S. Agency for International Development); and Challenges in the maritime domain – maritime domain, IUU fishing, and maritime law enforcement (U.S. Participation: U.S. Coast Guard, Department of Defense, National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, Department of State, Department of Interior).
